Family Birthdays

The idea behind this project was to create a sign that related to the rest of the decor and display family birthdays in an effective way.

Process:
- Brainstorm
- Sketch
- Print
- Paint
- Assemble

First step was to brainstorm how to incorporate the playfulness and the traditional values of the resident.

Also in the sketching, digitalizing phase a light bulb went off that we could use the house from up to represent balloons for each month of the year.

The person wanted a quote to represent not only the family but also the people who helped them throughout life. This was an influence on the digital ideations that came out.

After designing the house in Illustrator it was hand drawn onto the sign that was to be hung on the wall.

Paining the Content

After the outline was done research was conducted on which colors looked the best together and it was painted.

Printing Design

After creating the outline in Illustrator the design was printed and laid out on the board for printing.

Preparing for the Balloons

The next step was to paint the balloons. Starting with the template, as the process continued it was decided to add twelve balloons to represent 12 months of the year.
